In our recent blog we talked about how we have changed our processes to adhere to the guidelines around social distancing.  We spoke to two new tenants who have moved into Glasgow properties during this time about how they felt the virtual letting process went for them.

Elaine moved from Ireland using the ‘virtual letting process’

“As I was moving to Glasgow from Ireland during lockdown, the process of looking for accommodation was an extra challenge. However, my experience with One Stop Properties was extremely positive from start to finish.

As it was not possible to view the flat in person, I was provided with a virtual tour to view the property, which showed very clearly the layout of the flat, the size and the contents. The flat, when I moved in, was exactly as the virtual viewing showed it.

Denise, my contact throughout the process, was extremely helpful and so accommodating at all times. All my emails were answered quickly, and we had some zoom chats to confirm my identity and discuss more about the property details.

The paperwork was all carried out online which was easy and straightforward. I collected the keys from a key collection box outside of their office using a code provided, facilitating a contactless transfer.

The flat is exactly as described and shown in the virtual tour.  It is in perfect condition and there have been no issues since the move.  I am delighted I chose One Stop Properties who were so helpful during this difficult time and made the whole process stress free for me.”

Keeping to the guidelines around social distancing

Young professional couple, Paul and Yana were looking to rent a property in the Tollcross area of Glasgow as they needed a bigger property with more space to enable to Paul to work from home during lockdown.

The couple used all the virtual processes that One Stop Properties has recently introduced to help them comply with the rules around social distancing.

We spoke to Paul to find out how the whole process went…

  • Virtual tours. This is a great feature and really offers a user-friendly alternative to actual visits.

We would never have been able to find and move into the property during lockdown without using the virtual tour technology. The virtual tour provided an excellent overview of the property without having to physically visit the location which is impossible while we are social distancing.

The only small restriction with the tour, was in terms of the detail.  It would be helpful to show some of the other elements such as cupboard/storage space as this would help visualise how much storage was available.

I was amazed at the actual size of our property when we moved in, as it was much bigger than it looked in the video!

  • Collecting the keys – This was a seamless process with the help of the One Stop Properties team.

They made it so easy to collect the keys without the need of face to face interaction as I was sent a code to use in a safe deposit box located outside the One Stop Properties office.  All I had to do was pop over to the office, collect the keys from the safe deposit box and head off to the property.

We had a slight issue with one of the sets not working correctly, which would normally have been noticed on check-in when collecting the keys in person, however the team sorted this for me quickly and efficiently, so it didn’t cause me any issues.

  • Signing the paperwork electronically – a great time saver!

For me, I actually prefer receiving and digitally signing all paperwork as it saves so much time. As digital signatures are a standard feature of banks and legal establishments now, it is definitely an acceptable way for everyone to process and transfer paperwork.

  • Moving in – was really easy

After all the paperwork was complete and keys collected, we started the moving in process.  We managed to socially distance ourselves from others in the building and apart from the gruelling task of carrying boxes up 3 floors, it all went to plan!

I can’t praise Denise enough for ensuring the process went to plan and on-time. As this was her first ‘virtual tenant’ check-in, she was trying out the new processes, but everything went seamlessly.”
